For years, Dr. Amy Bremner has called San Diego home. After growing up in the Sacramento area, she matriculated to the University of California San Diego. Following her graduation, she returned to Northern California to work within the area of women’s health. She had always known that her life was pointed toward a career in medicine – her experiences during this period only solidified that desire.

Traveling back east, she made this dream a reality by attending medical school at Georgetown University. After obtaining a medical degree, she returned to California and began her training within the General Surgery program at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena. Even before completing residency, however, she had realized that her true calling was in the field of breast cancer. After completing her board certification and a year of practice, she returned to training within the Breast Oncology fellowship at the University of Southern California, specializing in Oncoplastic breast surgery techniques. It was there that she had the pleasure of studying and training under one of the fields’ greatest pioneers – Dr. Melvin Silverstein. Under his guidance, Dr. Bremner was provided not only with the tools inherent to technical success but a greater understanding of the multidisciplinary approach to the treatment of breast cancer.
